Edward Hopper is one of the truly great American painters. His work is colurful and engaging - full of light and freshness. Yet, I can not help but feel the sadness and isolation present in his work.
"Culture is everything and nothing. Culture is George Bush puking on TV. Culture is life as entertainment, and entertainment as a way of living life."'
If the sea could dream, and if the sea
were dreaming now, the dream

The letter written in the dream would go
something like: Forgive me - love, Blue.
- Carl Phillips
